Choosing a crystal:

Crystals an overview of usage and care. Clusters and polished stones can be found in most metaphysical shops, including the Healing Light online shop. Here is some guidance on deciding what crystal to buy, but remember it actually chooses you. With the online store, this is the method myself or the Healing Light team would chose a crystal for you too. Most of the crystals outlined below are available in our New-Age store.

Most of our Crystals can be found in categories. For example, we sell Crystals to aid Honesty/Integrity.

Sight: Close your eyes and take a deep breath. When you open your eyes, allow your eyes to fall on the first crystal you see.

Touch: A crystal will call you, and when you pick it up you will feel a gentle vibration in your palm. It may take you a few moments to adjust to it so maybe first take a deep breath. Then relax and let the crystal speak to you by focussing on any vibration or warmth in the palm of your hand. The size doesn’t really matter as sometimes the smallest crystal could have as much energy as the largest one.

Looking after your crystal:

Once you have got and chosen your crystal, it is important that you keep it in a pouch of some kind. This will protect it from being chipped as you will ideally, be carrying it around with you most of the time.

Cleansing your crystal:
When you are at home with your crystal, or it arrives in the post you would need to cleanse it. During its journey your crystal will have gone through many hands and been in many places. By cleansing it you will clear away any residue of its journey. There is no right or wrong way particularly to cleanse it, but just use your intuition to guide you as to which method to use to cleanse a particular crystal. You may even wish to use more than one method.

Salt Water: If you live near the sea you could fill a class with salt water and put your crystal in the water for a day or so, or leave it until you sense that it is cleansed. Alternatively, you could also fill a glass with a couple of spoonfuls of sea salt and then immerse the stone in the water.

Cool Water: Rinse your crystal under cool tap water and then dry with a cloth.

Sage or incense: Burn some dried sage, your favourite essential oil or incense and run the crystal through the smoke.

Charging your crystal:

Once you have cleansed your crystal, it is now time to charge its energy. Here are some useful methods:

The sun:

Put your crystal on the windowsill, car dashboard ect, and allow it to be nourished by the sun’s rays. It can be done for 10 minutes, or for how many hours your intuition tells you that it needs to be done for.

Soil: You could place your crystal in the soil of a healthy plant. It charges the stone and also can help the plant too.

Sand: After a dip in the ocean, allow the crystal to sit in the sand with the sun beating down on it , for it to get a super charge.

Cluster: If you put your crystal on top of a crystal cluster of clear quartz, it will also get a good charge.

Programming your crystal:

Hold your crystal in a prayer like position in your hand. Clear your mind and visualise yourself in the situation that you desire. See yourself in that situation and then say a positive affirmation about it.

It could be your desire for a specific job, so then see yourself in that job happy and content. Then say something like “ I am now working in the perfect job”. The affirmation puts the thought into the program. You can then go on to the next step which is meditation.

Meditation:

Take your crystal with you into a quiet room every day and light a candle. Relax a few moments with your crystal and look it up and down to get to know it. Every crystal is different. Examine it quietly and take some deep breaths. Close your eyes and concentrate on your vision, or desire allowing whatever images to come to you in your mind.

It can take about 30 days to bond with your crystal. Keep it under your pillow every night, carry it in its pouch and take it with you wherever you go. It will soon become your best pocket friend too.
